Margot asks: Where can I get training in proofreading/editing? (I have a BA in English.) Hi Margot, There are a variety of places. Look in your locality for any college, community college, community center, etc and check if they have a copy editing class. Chances are they do if they have a journalism department. If there's a large college or university around you check out any night, extension classes they may have in copy editing or proofreading. A professor at New York University has posted her class outline and that may be very helpful. This page contains very useful links. A class in Seattle--you might check to see if you can take it from a remote location. Good luck in your pursuits!
