: Award Winning Publication Seeking Managing Editor (Located at Stanford University)
Job Description:
The Stanford Social Innovation Review (www.ssireview.com), an independent quarterly published by the Stanford Graduate School of Business, has an immediate opening for a managing editor. The managing editor will shape the journal s editorial approach, and work collaboratively with leading academics, journalists, and thought leaders, editing research-based articles on nonprofit and social enterprise strategy. The managing editor will manage a staff that includes a senior editor, contributing editors, interns, and administrative support.
Successful applicant will have at least 3 or more years of editing and reporting experience at a magazine, newspaper, or academic journal and an interest in nonprofit and corporate social responsibility issues. You must also have previous experience working with academic authors, editing complex, feature-length articles that are structured like essays and involve analytical subject matter.
PR consultants, technical writers, and communications consultants need not apply.
This is a full-time position with benefits. The managing editor will work on site at Stanford University in Stanford, California.
A finalist for the Best New Publication of 2004 by the Maggie awards, the Review covers nonprofit management, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, social enterprises, and social entrepreneurship. It presents both research and practice-based knowledge to foster innovative solutions to social problems.
